Post-doctoral Fellow in the School of Biomedical Sciences (Ref.: 537645) (to commence as soon as possible, for one year in the first instance, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in synthetic biology, immunology, vaccinology, molecular biology, bioengineering, computational biology, artificial intelligence, or a related discipline. They should have strong experimental, analytical, writing, and communication skills. Experience in one or more of the following areas would be an advantage: mRNA/LNP vaccine development, cancer immunotherapy, bacterial infection models, mouse experiments, flow cytometry, cytokine profiling, single-cell RNA sequencing, bioinformatics, or AI-assisted biomedical data analysis.
The appointee will contribute to collaborative research projects investigating synthetic biology approaches for vaccine development and cancer treatment. Relevant ongoing research includes the development and mechanistic study of mRNA-LNP vaccines, immune regulation by IL-10, vaccine responses against Staphylococcus aureus and other pathogens, and the use of single-cell and computational approaches to understand vaccine-induced immunity. The work is also aligned with broader developments in life and health technology, including the integration of artificial intelligence with life sciences and medicine.
The appointee will be expected to conduct independent and collaborative research, including experimental design, molecular cloning or mRNA construct preparation, vaccine formulation and evaluation, cell-based assays, animal experiments, immune profiling, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and presentation of research findings. He/She may also assist in grant preparation, student supervision, and coordination with collaborators.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
The University only accepts online applications for the above post. Applicants should apply online and upload an up-to-date C.V. Review of applications will start from October 27, 2026 and continue until January 13, 2027, or until the post is filled, whichever is earlier.
