Facilities Officer (holding the functional title of Assistant Facilities Manager) in the Maintenance and Operations Unit of the Campus Services Division of the Estates Office (Ref.: 496943) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary)
Applicants should have 5 passes in HKCEE including English (min. Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007) and Chinese (Level 2 from 2007) OR min. Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language and Chinese Language, with at least 5 years’ relevant experience; OR a recognized diploma/certificate preferably in Building Surveying/Real Estate/Facilities Management/Property Management/Building Services or related disciplines with at least 3 years’ relevant experience. They should be proficient in using MS Office/AutoCAD and have hands-on experience in using computer-aided facilities management system. Possession of a valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card) issued in accordance with Chapter 59 of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance (i.e. by attending the relevant safety training courses which are recognized by the Commissioner for Labour) or equivalent, is a must. Possession of a valid Certificate of Registration of Electrical Worker (A or above) is preferred.
The appointee will be responsible for day-to-day building maintenance/improvement works/alteration works in all aspects particularly in academic and laboratory buildings; tendering process, site progress monitoring, supervision and liaison with contractors, following up with service agreements and certificates renewal; and communicating with the internal related parties as well as external consultants in an effort to provide the highest speed and quality of execution. He/She may be required to work shifts, overtime and on public holidays, subject to prior arrangement; and act as an emergency team coordinator outside office hours.
