Senior Research Assistant in the Sau Po Centre on Ageing within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 498578) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary term, or a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Social Sciences, Social Work, Sociology, Statistics, Public Health or a related discipline with three years’ post-qualification experience.  Those with a Master’s degree and have at least one year’s post-qualification experience in elderly, family or health settings are preferred.  He/She should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, strong communication skills, and be able to work independently and as a team.  The appointee will contribute to the projects on caregiving and intergenerational care.  He/She will be responsible for literature review; data collection and analysis; preparation of presentations, manuscripts, and reports; liaison with elderly people and NGOs partners; supervision of research assistants and helpers; and other research-related duties as assigned by the investigators.  He/She will have ample opportunity to collaborate with service professionals and academic experts.
