Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant I/II in the Sau Po Centre on Ageing within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 499077) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, or on a one-year temporary term, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Social Sciences, Social Work, Sociology, Statistics, Public Health or a related discipline, with at least three years’ post-qualification work experience in elderly, family or healthcare setting. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as a team. Those with lower qualifications and/or less project management experience may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant I/II. 

The appointee will work for a project that aims to test specific functions of a couple’s collaborative dynamics in mastering daily stressors that could facilitate more positive individual and relational well-being outcomes, and whether the effectiveness of collaboration varies as a function of perceived control of self and spouse during the collaboration. He/She will be responsible for literature review; data collection and analysis; preparation of presentations, manuscripts and reports; liaison with elderly people and NGO partners; supervision of research assistants and helpers; and other research-related duties as assigned by the investigators. 

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
