Research Assistant I in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref.: 499117) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Public Health, or a related discipline. They should have a good command of academic writing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and work independently. Those with experience in survey research, focus groups, and child/youth development are preferred. Working experience at primary or secondary schools in Hong Kong is an advantage. Applicants who are interested in pursuing a PhD are welcome to apply as the experience will provide a firm grounding in state-of-the-art research techniques. The appointee will primarily work for a research project on children/youth online behavior and well-being. He/She will be responsible for managing the data collection process, including recruitment of schools, parents, and students into the study; conducting focus group interviews, data management, processing, and analysis; doing literature search and review; writing research reports in English and/or Chinese; and completing other tasks as assigned.
