Senior IT Technician / IT Technician / Senior IT Assistant in the Centre for PanorOmic Sciences (CPOS) (Ref.: 499493) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, with 2 years’ work experience. They should possess working knowledge on Linux (Redhat/CentOS) and Windows OS (both desktop and server versions), and experience in basic system administration and programming. Hands-on experience in MySQL, PHP, Java, JavaScript, VBA, Joomla and/or Wordpress would be an advantage. Applicants with less experience/qualifications or fresh graduates with a good initiative will be considered.

The appointee will join the IT team which is responsible for general helpdesk support, establishing and maintaining the overall IT infrastructure, including the High Performance Computing Facility, and assisting the data analytics team in developing workflow/programs for genomic data analysis.
