Applications are invited for appointment as Assistant Registrar/Administrative Assistant I (holding the functional title of Research Centre Manager) in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 499968), to commence as soon as possible for two to three years, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a good university degree, preferably a postgraduate degree. They should have at least 8 years’ leadership experience in higher education, technology and innovation, or public/quasi-public sectors.  They should be a self-starter with demonstrated capacity for independent action and sound decision-making, and the ability to plan and implement large-scale projects. An excellent command of English and Chinese; a high level of interpersonal, organizational, time management and project management skills; and an appropriate level of IT knowledge are essential. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Administrative Assistant I. 

Reporting to the Principal Investigator (PI), the appointee will provide executive support to the PI in running the daily operations of a new research centre. He/She will work closely with various parties, including the funder, government departments, industry and community collaborators, investigators, and technology professionals. He/She will serve as the Chief Administrator for a multi-disciplinary project to develop deep analytics into the new frontiers of disease control and prevention.  He/She will lead executive and technical staff in a wide spectrum of administrative work at the new research centre including scientific project planning and management, human resource management, financial budgeting, research administration, space planning and utilization, office management, resource mobilization, internal and external communications. Working off-campus may be required.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.  A contract-end gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
