Research Assistant I/II in the Division of Neurology of the Department of Medicine (Ref.: 500206) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree or above preferably in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Neuroscience or a related discipline. They should have experience in molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, animal handling and/or surgical techniques; be organized and self-motivated; and have the ability to work independently as well as in a team. Those who have an interest in pursuing further research postgraduate studies are welcome to apply.
The appointee will participate in translational research projects on neurodegeneration (Alzheimer’s disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and disease modeling using iPSC-derived 3D cultured neuron. He/She will also assist in daily cell culture/animal models maintenance and laboratory housekeeping. On-the-job training in molecular biology and cell culture techniques will be provided.
