Applications are invited for appointment as Administrative Assistant I/II (AA I/II) (holding the functional title of Centre Manager) in the HKU-Pasteur Research Pole of the School of Public Health (Ref.: 500373), to commence as soon as possible for two to three years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
The selected candidate will work in a company incorporated by the University of Hong Kong that was established to administer and support the University’s innovation endeavors.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree, with at least 5 years’ supervisory experience in the higher education sector or a public/quasi-public organization. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; proven interpersonal, organizational, project management, and decision-making skills; and the ability to plan and implement large-scale projects. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as AA II.
The appointee will play a vital role assisting the Principal Investigator to run the daily operations of a new research centre. He/She will lead a team of executive and technical staff to support a wide range of functions including project planning and management, human resources, financial budgeting, research administration, space planning and utilization, and office management. He/She will liaise with internal and external stakeholders, assist in the development and implementation of strategic plans and policies in collaborative and team-based approaches, and perform other duties as assigned. Working off-campus may be required. Work outside office hours and on weekends may also be required occasionally. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and/or a written test.
