Applications are invited for appointment as Scientific Officer in the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 500445), to commence as soon as possible for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

The selected candidate will work in a company incorporated by the University of Hong Kong that was established to administer and support the University’s innovation endeavors.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in artificial intelligence, big data, computer science or a related discipline, with an excellent publication track record.  Post-doctoral experience in conducting scientific research, and demonstrated expertise relevant to artificial intelligence and big data research will be highly desirable.  Applicants should have an excellent command of written and spoken in English and Chinese, proficiency in IT and statistical packages, strong analytical skills, and good communication and interpersonal skills. They should be organized, flexible, self-motivated, attentive to details, and able to multitask independently.   The appointee will take a leading role in a multidisciplinary research team to develop big data/machine learning/scientific computing platforms to facilitate novel, deep, frontier analytics in improving global public health. Working off-campus may be required.

A competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
