Research Assistant I/II in the AIDS Institute of the Department of Microbiology (Ref.: 500523) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in a biology related discipline, preferably in immunology or microbiology. Technical experience in molecular biology, virology, immunology, primary cell culture, handling of small animals and BSL-3 practice would be an advantage. Applicants should also be self-motivated. The appointee will join a team of young researchers under the supervision of a Principal Investigator of the Institute. He/She will perform routine duties and handle assigned research work in the areas of (1) assessment of AIDS vaccine, (2) dissecting HIV and SARS-CoV-2 pathogenesis, and (3) drug discovery and vaccine design against HIV and SARS-CoV-2. Training for handling patient samples or infectious agents will be provided.
