Senior Technical Officer/Technical Officer in Assay Development and Diagnostics in the Department of Medicine and the State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (Ref.: 501843) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis or a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should have an M.Phil. degree or equivalent in Biology, Chemistry or a related discipline, preferably with experience in assay development, microfluidics and biosensors.  The appointee will work on an applied research project to develop rapid and high throughput diagnostic assays for research, drug screening, early diagnosis and risk prediction of chronic diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.  He/She will perform duties including development of assays, validation of assays in clinical samples, and assisting in the application of product certificates.  Details of the Research and Development activities can be found at and  Enquiries about the post should be sent to Miss Lily Li at  Applicants who have responded to the previous advertisement (Ref.: 500218) need not re-apply.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointment on fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
