Clerical Assistant for Madam S.H. Ho Residence for Medical Students in the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 502184) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should have completed Form 5 or above, with at least 5 years’ relevant work experience. They should have a fair command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua), knowledge of MS Office applications and good customer-service manners. They should also have good communication and interpersonal skills; and the ability to work independently and to serve in a team.
The appointee will provide general clerical support to the daily operation of Madam S.H. Ho Residence for Medical Students and the Student Wellness Team of the Faculty. He/She will serve as a front-desk receptionist to receive and answer enquiries in-person and on-phone. The appointee is expected to handle counter services independently and to follow through operational issues in the hall premises, including but not limited to process residential records, coordinate defect rectification, liaise with HKU colleagues and contractor workers, etc.
The appointee is expected to exercise strong sensitivity to handle students’ confidential information in the process of answering enquiries, performing data entry, preparing documents, copying and filing, etc. He/She shall also perform strenuous tasks, and may be required to work outside normal office hours and on weekends.
