Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the Division of Public Health Laboratory Sciences (PHLS) of the School of Public Health (Ref.: 502413), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in virology and molecular biology, with experience working on biosafety level 3 agents. Preference will be given to those with a strong track record of publications and solid research experience in virology and/or molecular biology. The appointee will research on influenza virus and/or other emerging infectious diseases. He/She will be involved in all research processes including grant applications, research planning and implementation, supervision of junior research staff and postgraduate students, report and paper writing, and the development of his/her own research programme.
