Assistant Technical Manager/Senior Technical Officer (holding the functional title of Senior Project Specialist) in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 502439) (to commence as soon as possible for two to three years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

The selected candidate will work in a company incorporated by the University of Hong Kong that was established to administer and support the University’s innovation endeavours.

Applicants should possess a good Bachelor’s degree, and preferably a postgraduate degree, in bioinformatics, computer science, statistics, life sciences, medical sciences, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline. They should be self-motivated, attentive to details and a good team player. They should have a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to multi-task. Relevant work experience in managing a research centre/laboratory is highly preferred.

The appointee will play a leading role in managing a new bioinformatics research programme with a focus on developing innovative big data analytics for global health and precision medicine. He/She will support the lead scientist to manage multiple research projects, train research and technical staff, and oversee the management of research data. He/She will also liaise with the local and international research collaborators and commercial partners. Working off-campus may be required.
