Applications are invited for the post of Senior Quality Assurance Manager (at the rank of Senior Technical Manager) in the Stem Cell Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Laboratory of the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 502565), to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in the field of pharmacy, cell therapy, gene therapy, regenerative medicine, tissue engineering or other relevant scientific disciplines, with at least two years’ relevant work experience at managerial or supervisory level in the processing or quality control of cells, genes or tissue-engineered products, advanced therapy products (ATP), or GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing. Comprehensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical law and administration in Hong Kong, as well as relevant training and practical experience in sterile pharmaceutical products, biological substances and products, active pharmaceutical ingredients, and investigational medicinal products, would be an advantage.
The appointee will be responsible for (i) the design and construction planning of the lab for GMP license application with Department of Health (DH); (ii) oversight of the quality assurance function of the laboratory and production of ATP; (iii) the daily operation of the lab; (iv) the coordination with researchers and DH on the application and production of ATP for clinical trials; (v) the organization of training for staff in the lab; as well as (vi) the supervision of the quality control manager and production manager of the lab.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary.
