Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Clinical Professor/Clinical Associate Professor/Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (Ref.: 502970), to commence as soon as possible, on a four-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second fixed-term contract, subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a medical qualification registrable with the Hong Kong Medical Council and a specialist qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, i.e. Fellowship of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (Obstetrics and Gynaecology). Preference will be given to those with subspecialty interests or qualifications in Urogynaecology. Applicants should have outstanding research achievement with evidence of international recognition, demonstrated leadership ability in teaching, curriculum development and research postgraduate education, as well as leadership and competence in their clinical specialty. Those who have the experience of having worked effectively with major international partners and funding agencies, interacting effectively across multiple sectors, and establishing and managing studies involving colleagues with different disciplinary backgrounds may be favourably considered. Applicants with less experience may be considered for appointment as Clinical Associate Professor/Clinical Assistant Professor.
The appointee will undertake teaching responsibilities and contribute to the enhancement and development of medical and health sciences courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the Faculty. He/She is expected to conduct high-quality scholarly research, provide clinical service and patient care at the University's teaching hospitals, and participate in services/administration at Departmental, Faculty and University levels. The appointee is also expected to play a key role in leading the development of academic scholarship and teaching programmes of the Department. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. A monthly cash allowance will be offered to the successful candidate. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
