Applications are invited for appointment as Principal Lecturer in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 503366), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a medical qualification registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong, a specialist qualification in Public Health Medicine or equivalent, and at least 15 years’ relevant teaching practice or post-registration experience in the respective healthcare disciplines. Experience working in health/development agencies, ministries or consultancy firms is highly desirable.
The appointee will contribute to teaching and learning in a wide spectrum of medical, public health and global health/development courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and provide specialist training. Major duties include student advisory, staff supervision, course design and delivery, curriculum development and enhancement, programme administration and management, quality assurance, research and scholarship in medical education, and development of academic partnerships.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
