Full-time/Part-time Certificated Dental Surgery Assistant II/Dental Clinic Assistant (at the rank of Facilities Assistant) (several posts) in the Institute for Advanced Dentistry Multi-Specialty Clinic of the Faculty of Dentistry (IAD-MSC) (Ref.: 503981) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis or one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
The Faculty of Dentistry is the only dental school in Hong Kong. Our outstanding undergraduate and postgraduate education programmes and international research achievements have enabled us to become one of the top dental schools in the world.
The IAD-MSC is established to support clinical based education in postgraduate programmes currently offered by the Faculty of Dentistry. These programmes include the taught postgraduate programmes in various dental disciplines, as well as continuing dental and professional education programmes to practicing dentists and specialists in the region.
For appointment as Certificated Dental Surgery Assistant II, applicants should have a Certificate of Proficiency in Dental Surgery Assisting issued by a recognised institute or equivalent, AND 5 passes in HKCEE, OR min. Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE. Preference will be given to those with work experience in a dental clinic. The appointees will assist the operators in the treatment of patients and teaching-related matters; facilitate patient care, administration, supplies, general cleanliness associated with clinics, and front desk patient care assisting functions; and perform other duties as assigned.
For appointment as Dental Clinic Assistant (at the rank of Facilities Assistant), applicants should have 5 passes in HKCEE, OR min. Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE, with at least 1 year’s work experience in a dental clinic including chairside assisting. The appointees will assist the operators in the treatment of patients and teaching-related matters; facilitate patient care, administration, supplies and general cleanliness associated with clinics; and perform other duties as assigned.
Rotating shifts of mornings, afternoons and evenings for Mondays to Fridays may be required.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits, if applicable. The appointments on fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
