Executive Officer (holding the functional title of Manager) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 504005) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should have a recognized degree with at least 5 years’ experience in alumni relations management, account management, or outreach/business development activities. They should also have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and preferably experience in the use of social media. They should have a customer service orientation and be able to work both independently and as part of a team to meet expected deadlines and schedules.
The appointee is expected to (a) manage communications with alumni, including alumni magazine, regular newsletter, programme rankings and student events; update social media platforms; (b) develop a strategic plan for alumni relations, including meaningful opportunities for alumni to engage; (c) develop and promote alumni events and attendance at selected student-oriented events; empower alumni in the design of chapter activities; (d) integrate students and alumni activities with core activities of the MBA, such as student recruitment and student mentoring; assist Career Development and Training Team with proactive outreach to alumni to develop opportunities for current students; (e) work closely with Marketing and Admissions Team to identify and steward relationships with alumni interested in volunteering for recruitment events both in HK and internationally; (f) steward relationships with the Faculty Alumni Affairs and central HKU Alumni Affairs office to ensure the representation of the MBA programme; (g) serve a visible role in graduation and commencement activities to help oversee student transition to alumni; (h) provide excellent customer service to alumni and other stakeholders in response to inquiries and requests, host alumni and external stakeholders on-campus and off-campus; and (i) update and maintain alumni records. Some evening and weekend work are required.
