Assistant Research Officer/ Senior Research Assistant in the Sau Po Centre on Ageing within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 504368) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary term, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in Social Sciences, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Public Health, Statistics or a related discipline, with at least 3 years’ post-qualification work experience in elderly, gerontechnology, healthcare or social service setting. Those with relevant work experience, a strong background in social sciences research, and an excellent track record of publications are preferred. They should have good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, a strong sense of responsibility, passion and interest in social sciences research and big data analytics, the ability to work independently as well as in a multi-disciplinary team. They should be excellent with programming languages (such as SAS or R), and have excellent knowledge of quantitative research methods and statistical software (such as SPSS, STATA, R, etc.). Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Senior Research Assistant.  

The appointee will contribute to multiple projects relating to family caregiving and big data analytics. He/She will be responsible for publication development, project management, project dissemination, supervision of research assistants; and performing other research-related duties as assigned. He/She will work in a multi-disciplinary team and will be required to take leadership role in the project coordination. He/She will have ample opportunities to collaborate with social sciences, and statistical experts for cultivation of research potential for the possibility of PhD study.
