Research Assistant I/II in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 508584) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in infectious disease epidemiology, mathematics, statistics, computational biology, physics or related disciplines. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including fluent Cantonese), good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, and a strong sense of responsibility.  They should be detail-oriented and able to work collaboratively in a team. Experience in infectious disease epidemiology and statistical analysis would be an advantage. Quantitative skills and proficiency in statistical or computer modelling software (e.g. R, Python, Stata, Matlab, C++, SPSS) are highly preferred.

The appointee will assist in studies related to influenza and/or COVID-19, analyse statistical data, and prepare publications and reports. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
