Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Ophthalmology (Ref.: 508781), to commence as soon as possible for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree preferably in biomedical sciences, bioengineering, biological sciences or a related discipline, with experience in molecular biology, tissue cell culture, confocal/fluorescent microscopy, and animal experiments (e.g. mouse handling, electroretinography, tissue dissection/processing/sectioning, immunohistochemical staining, RNA/DNA extraction/processing, qPCR, protein extraction, western blots, and cell culture techniques).  Previous research work experience in ophthalmology/visual science-related translational research, particularly in relation to drug delivery and pharmaceutics, will be desirable. They should also have a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation, an excellent command of written and spoken English, good interpersonal and communication skills, and have the ability to multi-task and work independently and collaboratively as a team.  The appointee will be involved in research projects related to development of novel pharmacological treatments for ocular diseases and investigations in neuroregeneration and neuroprotection.  Applicants who have responded to the previous advertisement (Ref.: 504189) need not re-apply.
