IT Officer (Network Operations) (2 posts) in the Information Technology Services (Ref.: 509217) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT) or a related discipline; a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills; and the ability to work independently. 

Post 1

Applicants should have working knowledge in the following areas:

  • TCP/IP based network and application infrastructure;
  • WiFi/LAN/WAN technologies;
  • maintaining network, system and application infrastructure and security.

The appointee will be responsible for:

  • the development and maintenance of network infrastructure on campus;
  • providing support to Service Desk, developing and maintaining operation procedures and the delivery of training for related services;
  • performing other duties as assigned.

Post 2

Applicants should have working knowledge in the following areas:

  • program development on Linux/Unix/Windows OS with programming and scripting languages (Python, Javascript, Linux shells, Windows Powershell, etc.);
  • automating daily system management tasks through scripting or using tools like Robotic Process Automation;

The appointee will be responsible for:

  • supporting operation tasks of data centres and campus network, and the development of automation scripts/applications for production use;
  • providing support to Service Desk, developing and maintaining operation procedures and the delivery of training for related services;
  • performing other duties as assigned.

Fresh graduates with good calibre are welcome to apply. Those with experience in IT Service Management (e.g. ITIL v3 and ITIL 4), Project Management (e.g. PRINCE2), campus network and data centre of universities or large corporations are preferred.
