The Centre for Comparative Medicine Research is a rapidly expanding, AAALAC International accredited, academic research-support centre of the LKS Faculty of Medicine at HKU. We are committed to the provision of high-quality laboratory animals, well-equipped animal holding facilities, and professional services to support the leading role of HKU in research and teaching. We are seeking various talents and offer excellent staff training and long-term development opportunities. With a team comprising scientists, veterinarians, registered laboratory animal and medical laboratory technologists, and over 100 highly trained and dedicated staff, we strive to promote the humane and excellent care and use of laboratory animals in the university. Applicants should possess a Bachelor degree or above in Biomedical/Biological Sciences, or Life Science-related disciplines. They should have a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills; and an interest in undertaking laboratory work in connection with surveillance, diagnosis and investigation of laboratory animal diseases. Those who are registered as Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) may be considered for appointment as Senior Technical Officer. The appointee will work in the surveillance and diagnostic laboratory in the animal facility for sample collection, preparation, processing and testing of the laboratory animals.
