Research Assistant I/II in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 515599) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in public health, statistics, or a related discipline in life/medical sciences. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English, good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and interest in public health research. They should be detail-orientated and able to work collaboratively in a team. Experience in infectious disease epidemiology and statistical analysis would be an advantage. Quantitative skills and proficiency in statistical or computer modelling software (e.g., R, Python, SAS, Stata, SPSS, Matlab, C++) are highly preferred.

The appointee will assist in studies investigating the epidemiology and control of influenza, COVID-19 and other communicable diseases, with an aim to reduce morbidity during future outbreaks and minimize transmission. He/She will assist in the development of concepts, protocol and research plans, contribute to brainstorming and gap analysis following review and understanding of the scientific literature, analyse statistical data, prepare publications, and draft reports.
