Part-time Research Assistant I/II or Student Research Assistant (several posts) in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 516053) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants for part-time Research Assistant should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in public health, medical science or related disciplines. Applicants for Student Research Assistant should be current undergraduate or postgraduate students, preferably in public health, medical science or related disciplines. They should have a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; and IT proficiency (MS Word and Excel). They should be responsible, ethical, self-motivated, detail-minded, and able to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team. Experience in community-based research would be an advantage.

The appointee will contribute to community-based studies on the epidemiology and vaccine responses of respiratory virus infections (e.g. COVID-19 and influenza) in Hong Kong. They will recruit participants, conduct regular follow-up through interviews or phone calls, collect clinical specimens including blood draws and respiratory specimens, conduct health education, and perform other duties as assigned. Work outside normal office hours and on weekends may be required occasionally. Information about the School can be obtained at http://sph.hku.hk/index.php.
