Research Assistant I/II in School of Public Health (Ref.: 516440) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance).

Applicants should possess Bachelor’s degree in science, biology, medical sciences or related disciplines, with relevant experience in microbiology and molecular biology. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Mandarin), and the ability to work discretely when handling confidential data. They should be a good team player with passion and self-initiative in research. Knowledge of bioinformatics and basic molecular biology techniques would be an advantage. Experience in computational analysis of genomic data or handling aquatic environmental samples (freshwater or wastewater) is highly preferred. The appointee will provide research support to the daily operation of a team working on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). Relevant research experience would be an advantage. Those with lower qualifications and/or less experience may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant II.

He/She will assist in protocol development and procurement, conduct experiments, manage budget, collect and analyse data, and perform other duties as assigned. Information about the School can be obtained at http://sph.hku.hk/index.php. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview.
