Research Assistant I in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref.: 516594) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability).  

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Social Work, Public Policy, Sociology, Political Sciences, Geography, Economics or other related disciplines. They should have good quantitative data analysis skills and high proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, Python). The applicants should have demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility and good communication skills in written and spoken English and Chinese. Preferences will be given to those who had experience of performing unsupervised machine learning models (e.g., clustering analysis) and natural language processing techniques (e.g., topic modelling and sentiment analysis). Interests in social policy and poverty alleviation are preferred.

The appointee will work for multiple research projects on social policy. He/She will be responsible for conducting literature review, collecting data, analyzing data, drafting manuscript, supervising research helpers and other research-related duties as assigned.
