Accounting Officer/Accounting Executive (several posts) in the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics of the School of Public Health (Ref.: 516919) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis or a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess 5 passes in HKCEE including English (min. grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007) and Chinese (Level 2 from 2007), OR min. Level 2 in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language and Chinese Language, with at least 5 years’ experience in accounting or financial administration, preferably in the tertiary education sector. They should have an excellent command of spoken and written English, proficiency in word processing, good IT knowledge, and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. They must be a good team player, self-motivated, attentive to details, and able to work independently and multitask under pressure. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Accounting Executive.

The appointees will perform a full range of financial and administrative duties to assist a busy research team. He/She will (i) handle financial matters (e.g. prepare journal entries; process invoices and purchase orders); (ii) monitor budgetary control matters and international research grants; (iii) provide clerical and human resources support (e.g. data entry and preparation of documents); and (iv) perform other duties as assigned.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
