Applications are invited for appointment as Research Officer in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine and the State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (Ref.: 518957) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis or one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in Protein Chemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology or a related discipline, with at least 4 years’ significant experience in protein expression, purification and characterization. Proficiency in biologics manufacturing process is required. They should have project management skills, and the ability to work independently and efficiently; and be able to keep abreast of new scientific and technological developments and exploit them to continuously improve functional area capabilities.
The appointee will organize, co-ordinate and establish a large-scale systematic protein expression system; and carry out laboratory management work including new staff training and stock management. Enquiries about the post should be sent to Miss Lily Li at lily46@hku.hk.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment on fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of the basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
