Full-time/Part-time Research Assistant I/II in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 519272) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in kinesiology, public health, medical science or related disciplines. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and good interpersonal and communication skills especially with University students. They should also be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently. Those with a passion for promoting the importance of exercise would be desirable.
The appointee will work closely with the HKU Kinesiology division and assist in the “Curriculum and pedagogical innovation: Enhancement of interdisciplinary professional skills in physical (PA) counselling” funded by the HKU Teaching Development Grant (TDG). The main aim of this TDG is to enrich the MBBS curriculum by nurturing a new generation of medical doctors with competences in evidence-based PA counselling (e.g. giving exercise recommendations).
The appointee will assist the Project Investigator to manage the study such as creating teaching materials and liaison work in the data collection and analysis. In rare cases, the appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours/on weekends. The appointee will gain excellent practical experience in the kinesiology, medical and public health education field from this post.
