Research Assistant I/II (several posts) in the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, School of Public Health (Ref.: 519293) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in public health, preventive medicine, biostatistics, or a discipline related to biomedical science. They should have relevant work experience, a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (fluent Cantonese and command of mandarin is a plus), and a keen interest in research in epidemiology and public health. They should be organized, responsible, detail-minded, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as a team. Previous experience in carrying out fieldwork in similar projects would be an advantage.
The appointees will assist in a range of ongoing community field studies on infectious disease epidemiology and/or vaccine trials. They will recruit subjects, conduct health education, collect and analyze data for a range of ongoing community field studies, and perform general administrative duties and other duties as assigned by the supervisor. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointments on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
