IT Manager/IT Officer (holding the functional title of System Analyst/Analyst Programmer) in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 519368) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or above in information technology, computer science, informatics or a related discipline, with at least 6 years' work experience in application development. They should have (i) knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, jQuery, JSON, XML, SQL and MySQL; (ii) experience in version control, web-based development and CMS systems (e.g. Joomla); (iii) at least 2 years’ hands-on work experience in supporting Linux hosting platform, including apache and tomcat; (iv) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and (v) good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience in front-end/UI technologies, such as AngularJS, ReactJS and React Native, is highly preferred. Those with less experience may be appointed as IT Officer (holding the functional title of Analyst Programmer).

The appointee will assist in the implementation, management and maintenance of information systems for research projects related to COVID-19 and influenza. He/She will manage research data, design templates for data visualization, liaise with IT systems vendors, provide on-site technical support for the maintenance of equipment and servers, and perform other duties as assigned. Work outside normal office hours may be required occasionally.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefit. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
