Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer in the Department of Geography (Ref.: 519483), to commence on August 1, 2023 or as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in geography or a related discipline and with at least three years’ teaching experience in tertiary institutions, preferably with expertise in urban development, regional studies, housing economics, economic geographies, or policy studies. They should demonstrate excellent motivation in teaching and should be experienced and proficient in managing and developing teaching programmes.  Applicants should also be familiar with curriculum development, academic advising, programme promotion and admission procedures.  They should have strong communication and organizational skills.

The appointee will teach courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, provide leadership in managing and developing teaching programmes, support outreach to school community, and undertake some programme-related administrative duties of the Department as assigned.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary.
