Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF)/Senior Research Assistant (SRA) in the School of Nursing (Ref.: 519865), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year temporary basis for PDF and on a two-year fixed-term basis or one-year temporary basis for SRA, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science or other related disciplines.  They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; effective communication skills; and the ability to multitask and work independently as well as in a team.  Preference will be given to those with a track record of running machine learning models, publishing academic research papers, and handling large databases.  Those with a Master’s degree with at least 1 years’ post-qualification experience may be considered for appointment as SRA.

The appointee will work under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Y.T. Fong, with the aim of utilizing artificial intelligence to improve clinical decision-making by coordinating and executing research projects in healthcare; carry out administrative work; and supervise research-support staff. 

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  For SRA, the appointment on fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
