Research Assistant II in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 519885) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in science, biology, medical/biomedical sciences or related disciplines, with relevant experience in microbiology and molecular biology. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua), and the ability to work discretely when handling biological specimens and confidential data. They should be a good team player with passion and self-initiative in research. Knowledge of bacterial culture and basic molecular biology techniques would be an advantage. Experience in bacterial isolation and identification, and sample collection is highly preferred.
The appointee will provide research support to the daily operation of a team working on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). He/She will assist in microbiological test, protocol development, laboratory experiments, data collection and analysis, procurement and budget management; and perform other duties as assigned.
