Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in Immunometabolism and Metabolic Medicine in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 520191), to commence as soon as possible for one to three years with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree, preferably with experience in adipose biology, immunology, multi-omics and/or manipulation of genetically-modified mice. They should have evidence of high-quality research as indicated by publication record; excellent project management skills; the ability to work independently and under pressure; a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation; and good coordination, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills. The appointee will work on a research project to characterize heterogeneity of adipose tissues and to identify secretory factors involved in conversion of white adipocytes to brown adipocytes. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. Appointment on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
