Applications are invited for a Post-doctoral Fellow (Ref.: 522540) in assessing airborne plastic particles in urban environments in the Department of Geography at the University of Hong Kong. The post will commence as soon as possible on a two-year temporary basis, with a possibility for further extension depending on performance and availability of funding.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in geography, environmental science, atmospheric science, hydrology, or a related discipline. They should demonstrate: (i) hands-on experience and expertise in microplastic monitoring and analyzing; (ii) knowledge of spatio-temporal data analysis using ArcGIS or other open-source GIS packages, (iii) a strong track record of high-quality research, as evidenced by publications in mainstream international journals, and (iv) good interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Successful applicant will have opportunities to work with multidisciplinary collaborators in public health, chemistry, environmental education and law, earth science etc. in Hong Kong and UK, and USA. Information about the Department of Geography can be obtained at https://www.geog.hku.hk.
