IT Officer/IT Technician for HCMS Team in the Information Technology Services (ITS) (2 posts) (Ref.: 522721)
ITS provides central IT services to support the University’s teaching, learning, research and administrative activities. ITS is transforming its organization to support its new strategic development and strategic adoption of new technologies. We are seeking high caliber candidates to support different IT services and new development. Information about ITS can be obtained at https://www.its.hku.hk/.
The Role
The appointee will work on the development and maintenance of ERP related applications, and projects on digital transformation, being responsible for collecting and analyzing user requirements; conducting design, development and maintenance of enterprise-based IT systems; providing quality IT services to the University community; coordinating with stakeholders; and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Qualities
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline; a good command of written and spoken English; and good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Applicants who have good knowledge of and relevant experience in some of the following areas are preferred:
- Microsoft Power Platform and related technologies, including Power App, Power Pages, Power BI, Power Automate and Power Virtual Agent, Office 365, Teams, SharePoint, Azure and Dataverse, etc.
- Oracle PeopleSoft HRMS and PeopleTools development
- Web & app programming (Java Servlet, PHP), web technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, Node.js) and UNIX Shell scripts
- Database programming such as PL/SQL, JDBC with Oracle database
- System integration especially for Oracle PeopleSoft ERP, with REST API, JSON, etc.
- Knowledge on software development lifecycle and methodologies
Those with lower qualifications and/or less experience may be considered for appointment as IT Technician.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years and commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary.
