Executive Officer for Strategy, Governance & Architecture (SGA) Team in the Information Technology Services (ITS) (Ref.: 522797)
ITS provides central IT services to support the University’s teaching, learning, research and administrative activities. ITS is transforming its organization to support its new strategic development and strategic adoption of new technologies. We are seeking high calibre candidates to support different IT services and new development. Information about ITS can be obtained at https://www.its.hku.hk/.
The Role
The appointee will be responsible for providing administrative support which allows an organization to the strategy development and ensure compliance with departmental policies and government regulations. This may include offering advice and guidance on best practice or it may include adapting institutional policy. The appointee also plays a role in user engagement and service delivery.
Qualifications and Qualities
Applicants should have a good Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Law, Communication, Marketing or a related discipline with at least 3 years of relevant administrative experience, preferably in tertiary education. They should have an excellent command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua), strong organization and communication skills, and a high level of computer literacy. They should be able to multi-task and work in teams, and also able to work independently and be attentive to details. Good knowledge of and relevant experience in SOME of the following areas will be an advantage:
- Background and experience in governance-related roles, such as compliance, risk management, or corporate secretary.
- Ability to assist the strategy and governance development.
- Experience in governance initiatives and driving organizational change.
- Understanding of IT industry landscape, standards, and best practices.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex information and assess risks.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are vital for effectively communicating governance requirements, policies, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong attention to detail is necessary for reviewing governance documentation, policies, and procedures, as well as for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- ESG-related regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years and commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary.
