Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering [with a functional title of VR/XR Developer] (to commence on April 1, 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter for 1 year.)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop interactive VR/XR solutions under the guidance of our senior developers
  • Assist teaching and learning activities
  • Research on, experiment with, build and evaluate cutting-edge VR/XR technology for use in different XR solutions
  • Assist and work with project team in the design, development, testing and release of different VR/XR tools and applications
  • Create working prototypes to demonstrate new VR features/concepts
  • Learn constantly, educate others, dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies, and embrace the ambiguity of VR/XR problem solving in a collaborative research and development environment

Job Requirements:

  • Full-time university student studying Computer Science, Engineering, Creative Media or related discipline
  • Good knowledge and proficiency in real-time interactive application development using Unity or other similar game engines
  • Passionate in learning new and advanced technology
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Deep intellectual curiosity, detail-oriented, and independent
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge in computer programming, and prior experience in VR systems and programming would have an advantage
