Senior Executive Assistant (at the rank of Clerk I) / Executive Assistant (at the rank of Clerk II) (2 posts) in the Department of Sociology (Ref.: 528785) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal, subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

Applicants should possess a good Bachelor’s degree or a Diploma with at least 3 years’ work experience, preferably in tertiary education. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills; IT proficiency; familiarity with MS Office application and social media platform.  They should be self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and positive attitude; hard working, meticulous and be able to work independently as well as in a team.  They are also expected to be attentive to details, be able to prioritize multiple tasks, follow through on the tasks assigned, work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, and competent in discharging complex clerical duties.  Those with less experience and/or lower qualifications could be considered for appointment as Executive Assistant. 

The appointee will provide a wide range of administrative and clerical support to the department, including general office administration and academic programme administration, such as admission, examination, curriculum management, timetabling, classroom logistics, course enrolment, scholarships and other related student matters and enquiries. They will also be responsible for the planning and coordination of department events and seminars; handle travel arrangements for visits or business trips, including flights, hotel & accommodation, itinerary planning and visa application; liaise with internal and external parties; provide support in basic accounting and reimbursement matters, and other duties as assigned. Work outside normal office hours and on weekends may be required occasionally.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and/or a written test.

A competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
