IT Technician/IT Officer in the Teaching and Learning Innovation Centre (TALIC) (to commence as soon as possible on a temporary basis until 30 June 2026) (Ref.: 530587)

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated candidate who is capable of independently managing the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This role requires a proactive individual who can deliver end-to-end solutions without relying on external support or assistance.

The Role

• Manage all phases of the SDLC, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance independently.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand project requirements, translating them into technical specifications and actionable development tasks.
• Design, develop, and maintain responsive, user-friendly web and mobile applications, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
• Implement both front-end and back-end systems, including server-side logic, database management, and seamless integration of APIs.
• Develop and test software using best practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD) and ensure adherence to high coding standards.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across development, UAT, and production environments efficiently and independently.
• Optimize application performance, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability in all solutions.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies, particularly in deep learning and generative AI, and apply them to improve software solutions.
• Document all development processes and maintain clear, comprehensive technical documentation for future reference.
• Take full ownership of deliverables, meeting deadlines and ensuring the quality of the product aligns with organizational standards.

Qualifications and Qualities

• Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma or above in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
• Proven experience in independently completing full-cycle development projects.
• Proficiency in front-end and back-end development, including modern frameworks and languages.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture, test-driven development, and industry-standard security practices.
• Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly, especially in the fields of AI and machine learning.

Candidates with more experience and/or higher qualifications may be considered for appointment at the rank of IT Officer.
