Executive Officer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Ref.: 531147) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year/three-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess a Science or Engineering Bachelor's degree, preferably in aeronautical/mechanical/electrical/computer engineering, with at least 6 years’ post-first-degree experience, preferably in a tertiary institution or a technology company. They should have an excellent command of English and Chinese (Putonghua and Cantonese); a high level of interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills; as well as a good level of IT knowledge. Applicants should also be competent communicators with the ability to work independently, be good team players with the ability to multi-task under tight deadlines, and be attentive to details. Those with supervisory experience and demonstrated leadership ability is highly preferred.
The appointee will manage the administrative tasks in the newly established HKU Research Institute for Civil Low Altitude Aviation, as well as support projects in mainland China for the Department of Mechanical Engineering, which may also include degree program promotion and administration. The appointee will be responsible for low-altitude economy and mainland projects, with main work location in Hong Kong but frequent business trips to Shenzhen and other parts of mainland China may be expected. Work outside normal office hours may be required occasionally. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
