Laboratory Assistant (holding the functional title of Project Assistant) in the School of Public Health (Ref: 531416) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should have completed Form 5 or above. Diploma or above in healthcare-related disciplines would be desirable but not a must. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin, which is a plus), as well as proficiency in Microsoft applications (especially Excel). They should be organized, responsible, and able to work independently as well as in a team. Experience in community-based research studies is highly preferred. Venipuncture skill is a plus.
The appointee will assist in a range of ongoing community field studies on infectious disease epidemiology and/or vaccine trials. He/She will assist in participant recruitment and follow-up activities, handle blood and respiratory samples, answer study hotline enquires, provide administrative support and perform other duties as assigned.
