Applications are invited for the appointment as Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant I/II (several posts) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary term with the possibility of renewal upon funding availability)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences related discipline with three years’ post-qualification experience or a Master’s degree in the above fields with one year’s post-qualification experience. They should also have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese), strong analytical skills, experience conducting various quantitative and qualitative data analyses, and the ability to work independently and as a team. Those with lower qualifications and/or less experience may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant I or II.
The appointees will join Professor Terry Lum’s research team to investigate ways to enhance trust and social cohesion in Asian settings. They will contribute to the development of localised social capital measurement tools and explore strategies to increase social support, cohesion, and collaboration among older adults, young adults and ethnically diverse communities in Hong Kong, with particular focus on how social capital influences health and well-being outcomes. They will be responsible for data collection, conducting focus groups, literature review, liaison with local NGOs, research data analysis, and performing other duties as assigned.
