Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor (RAP) / Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF) in AI for Medical Imaging in the Department of Chemistry (Ref.:531782), to commence as soon as possible, on a 1 to 3-year temporary basis for PDF, or on a 1-year temporary or a 2 to 3-year fixed-term basis for RAP, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Sciences/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Medical Physics, or related disciplines with a strong background in artificial intelligence and medical image analysis. Experience in deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and medical image processing is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of peer-reviewed publications in the field of AI for medical imaging. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in multimodal imaging analysis, federated learning, or interpretable AI methods for clinical applications.
The appointee will be expected to (i) develop novel AI approaches for medical image analysis and interpretation; (ii) conduct independent research and collaborate with clinicians to translate AI imaging technologies into healthcare applications; (iii) publish research findings in high-impact journals; (iv) assist in the preparation of research grant applications; (v) contribute to administrative duties as required. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. For RAP, the appointment on fixed-term will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
