Executive Officer (to be seconded to GBAICTI) (Ref.: 534732) 

The Greater Bay Area International Clinical Trial Institute (GBAICTI) is a wholly-owned entity of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, serving as a centralized clinical research facilitation platform with the mission of creating and sustaining a thriving clinical research ecosystem and driving development in Hong Kong and Greater Bay Area (GBA).

In November 2024, the University of Hong Kong Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed) was appointed as the operator of GBAICTI. In December 2025, the Real-World Study and Application Centre (RWSAC) was established under GBAICTI to open up local health and medical databases and promote collaboration between Hong Kong and other GBA cities.

We are now seeking a high-calibre professional to join the RWSAC (located at Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone) as Executive Officer.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Report to Director (RWSAC) and Vice President (Corporate Services & Administration) to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, support strategic initiatives, and serve as the key interface between the unit, the University’s central administration, and external stakeholders.
  • Support the management and operations of the RWSAC.
  • Support the formulation and implementation of strategies, including human resources management, financial management, procurement management, internal quality management and general administration.
  • Execute human resources functions, such as staff recruitment, on-boarding, appointment/re-appointment/promotion/departure process, training and development, and performance monitoring/evaluation.
  • Manage and coordinate procurement and financial transactions to ensure financial compliance.
  • Support internal quality management.
  • Provide general administrative support to the senior management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in management and administration, preferably in governmental or public organisations.
  • Proficiency in common office applications (e.g. MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint); Hands-on experience in project management and database applications (e.g. MS Project, Access and Visio) is an added advantage.
  • Commitment to quality, integrity, confidentiality and compliance.
  • Good organisational, project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-minded, able to handle multiple concurrent tasks and self-motivated.
  • A good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; Proficiency in Putonghua is an added advantage.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
