Post-doctoral Fellow in Surface Science Laboratory in the Department of Physics (Ref. 534745)

We invite applications for the captioned post(s) available in Prof. Maohai Xie’s group.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

· work on the projects of material science, surface science via scanning tunnelling microscopy

· maintain/refine the research instruments

· coordinate data collection and analysis

· assist in the preparation of reports and manuscripts

· perform other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

· a Ph.D. degree in Physics or a related discipline

· strong background or experience in one or more of the following areas: 2D materials, carbon nanotubes, scanning tunnelling microscopy/spectroscopy, molecular beam epitaxy

· an excellent command of written and spoken English

· good interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills

· the ability to work independently and in a team

· the ability to work on a tight schedule to meet project deadlines

· self-motivated and responsible

 

What we offer

The appointment will commence as soon as possible, initially for a contract period of 2 years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
